At YanaCorp, we believe that education is the key to unlocking Africa’s future. Beyond building technology solutions, we are committed to giving back to the community through initiatives that prepare young people with practical skills for the modern world. In this spirit, YanaCorp recently carried out a month-long Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative at Jangwani Secondary School. The program focused on Form 5 students, equipping them with essential digital knowledge to support both their academic journey and future careers.
1. Basic Computer Skills and Computer Parts Students were introduced to the fundamental building blocks of computer use. They learned to identify key hardware components, understand how computers work, and practice essential skills such as typing, file management, and basic software use. 2. Cybersecurity Awareness Recognizing the risks of the digital world, the program emphasized online safety. Students gained awareness of common cyber threats such as phishing and malware, learned how to create strong passwords, and discussed ways to protect personal information and use the internet responsibly. 3. Digital Marketing and Internet Use To broaden their horizons, students were introduced to digital marketing concepts. They explored how social media and online platforms can be used not only for communication but also for business growth and entrepreneurship. They also learned how to conduct effective online research and leverage the internet as a tool for education and innovation. At the close of the program, YanaCorp provided the students with proper contact channels in case they face any digital challenges or cybersecurity concerns in the future. This ensures that the support extends beyond the classroom, giving them a trusted partner as they continue their digital journey. The impact was immediate. Students became more confident in handling computers, more aware of their safety online, and more curious about how technology could open doors to new opportunities. Teachers praised the initiative, noting that these are exactly the skills students need as they prepare for university and the job market. One Form 5 student shared: “Learning about cybersecurity and digital marketing was eye-opening. I now see the internet as more than just a place to chat with friends — it can also be a platform for learning and business.” This initiative reflects YanaCorp’s commitment to creating a digitally empowered generation. By investing in young minds through CSR, we are laying the foundation for a future where technology drives both personal and community growth across Tanzania and Africa.
